News we trust is not a luxury. We need it.
Hi There,
My name is Melanie Plenda and I am the Director of The Granite State News Collaborative.
I’m reaching out to you today because I am hoping we’ve not only earned your trust, but earned your support.
We are a fiscally sponsored, non-profit news organization, which means in order to operate, we rely on funding support from the public to keep us going.
We use those funds to help more than 20 local news outlets share their reporting with each other. We also pay our team of experienced investigative reporters to work with Collaborative and local news editors to produce in-depth, investigative and accountability stories that the outlets can’t do with their own limited resources.
In just the span of 18 months, GSNC used its funds to help local news partners share more than 2,600 news stories focused on the issues that impact Granite Staters the most. Additionally, our Collaborative reporters produced more than 600 in-depth and investigative pieces of journalism for our partners to distribute to their communities.
That means all of our communities, our neighbors, our policymakers had more vital, trusted news and information than they ever would have before we all started working together.
And, we are all working together because we know that means something. News we can trust is not a luxury item. It’s not the coffee we can skip on the way home from work. We have to have it.
We want to keep providing this service to our communities. We want our communities to have what they need. With your help, all of us –together–can do that. Please consider making a donation now.
All the best,
Melanie
